History
The beginnings of expansion and specialisation
In 1914 Willy Henning takes over the company shares of his partner Georg Trebes. The strategy of the company, which remains true to the name Trebes+Henning, continues to focus on expansion and specialisation. Successfully.
Trebes+Henning becomes a glove specialist.
Trebes+Henning concentrates on manufacturing distinctive leather gloves. Washable leather gloves for industry and the trades are one of these specialist products. At the same time Trebes+Henning makes a name for itself with a high-quality range of elegant suede gloves for discerning private customers and public authorities.
Trebes+Henning becomes established.
The company continues to expand throughout Germany and elsewhere in Europe. The leather-glove manufacturer is particularly successful in England and also secures new market potential overseas. At the outbreak of the Second World War Trebes+Henning employs a total of 350 people: tanners, dyers, glove makers, seamstresses and office staff.
Trebes+Henning: proven in crisis and as strong as its products
The Second World War is over, and Trebes+Henning is initially driven from its Bernau headquarters by the Soviet occupying power. But as early as 1947 the traditional company Trebes+Henning is able to resume its pre-war success in West Berlin and continues to produce high-quality leather gloves according to its proven principle: strong products from a strong brand.
Trebes+Henning: built for generations
In the third and fourth generations the family business positions itself as a specialist supplier for occupational safety and work protection. Today the product range includes, among other things, protective gloves, safety shoes, safety helmets and further occupational safety products and accessories. Customers include industry, the trades, forestry and agriculture, retail, security companies and other service providers. They all rely on the partnership-based collaboration as well as the proven, high-quality branded products from selected suppliers.
To meet these high standards it has set itself, Trebes+Henning launched the Carex® brand as early as 2002. Carex® has long been established on the market as a quality name for gloves. In 2007 Trebes+Henning set a further standard for workwear with its own brand Kenson®. Kenson® is now a recognised brand collection made from durable fabrics produced in Germany and, thanks to the large number of two-colour combinations, also offers a wealth of design options.
It is these requirements for our products, as well as our high understanding of service and loyalty towards our customers, that have made Trebes+Henning successful for more than a hundred years. We will of course remain true to these principles in the future. You can always rely on that at Trebes+Henning.
